Who we are
Big Fix Handyman was founded by Steve Streicher, a craftsman deeply inspired by the art of building and renovation. Growing up on the East Coast, Steve was captivated by iconic shows like This Old House, The New Yankee Workshop, and The Woodwright’s Shop. These programs fueled his passion for working with his hands and creating beautiful, functional pieces. Since the early 1990s, Steve has honed his skills in home renovation and custom woodworking, transforming spaces with precision and care.
In 2006, Steve and his family made the move to Boise, Idaho, answering the call to help his father-in-law renovate a neglected house in desperate need of attention. That project wasn’t just a labor of love—it was the beginning of a new chapter. Steve fell in love with the Treasure Valley’s sense of community and wide-open spaces and decided to make it home.
With decades of hands-on experience, Steve combines his expert craftsmanship with a dedication to helping families and businesses in Boise create spaces they love. Whether it’s fixing what’s broken, building something new, or bringing a vision to life, Steve’s approach is rooted in quality, detail, and a commitment to doing the job right.
Big Fix Handyman isn’t just about repairs; it’s about creating homes and spaces where people can thrive. For Steve, it’s not just work—it’s a craft, a passion, and a way to serve the community he now calls home.
